A lot of people have asked for a mobile port. I'm focusing on getting the PC version done first but will see if porting to mobile is feasible after that!
So Mission 2 of Sweet Mountain. I came across a bug where if I jump too high on the rail switches. The camera stops following cause I didn't hit a previous switch. I can't see where I'm going when that happens so I just die. Also the timing to hit the A Button on ramps and whatnot is a little tight.
Would love to put this on retro handhelds, but it loads way too much into memory. Any way you can externalize the bgm for streaming instead of using embedded? Would also help in making the music modular, an optional addon to reduce final package size in the end. Thanks.
Hey, I'd have to look into this and I'll be honest and say I'm not 100% sure. This is my first full scale GameMaker game so I'm still learning. I was under the impression streamed audio would result in the game's audio files being placed in a separate folder accessable by players and I didn't want them tampering with them. I'd love for you to be able to put the game on a handheld though so I'm willing to try and work something out.
Also, I didn't even know putting GameMaker games on handhelds like that was possible, I love retro handhelds (I built a handheld RetroPie a few years ago and use it to play GBA, SNES, NES, and Genesis games). What handheld do you use?
I currently use an Anbernic RG40xxH, but I have a small variety of them to test with. We have a whole thing behind the practice, see https://portmaster.games. I did UFO 50 recently, and I'm still learning some optimization tricks too.
Correct, streamed audio does allow players to access them. If you have a blend of official ost and custom audio, you could go in the middle and have the official ost be streamed from disk.
I wonder if you can include EVERY known wisp and their Color Powers from the Wii and Nintendo DS versions of Sonic Colors and the Wii U and 3DS versions of Sonic Lost World. That would include the Jade Wisp and their Jade Ghost Color Power from Sonic Colors Ultimate. It's only a suggestion, but it could make this game a lot more fun, right?

The game is going to have an original Super Sonic theme! We currently have a beta mix for it, but it isn't quite ready to put in-game just yet.
