Devlog #2 - New Gameplay Previews


Hey everyone, long time no see! In today's devlog, we're highlighting the fact that TWO brand new gameplay previews have been posted on the official Randomocity Gaming YouTube channel! You can take a sneak peek at Tropical Resort's boss fight as well as one of the mission stages from Aquarium Park in the videos below:

Tropical Resort Boss:

In this stage, Sonic will face off against the first of Eggman's deadly robots, Rotatron. Players will have to strike Rotatron's eye repeatedly while ascending a massive tower. Once you've hit him enough times, Rotatron will become enraged and you'll have to take out the four engines they spawn before finishing them off once and for all! 

An exciting bit to note is that all bosses in the game will have a "pinch" mode like this, so look forward to it!

Aquarium Park Mission: 

If you couldn't already tell, this stage is heavily inspired by both the minecart stages in the Donkey Kong Country series and the rail grinding levels in Sonic Lost World. I really enjoyed the rail grinding stages in Lost World in particular and it felt like they were never given enough justice, so I wanted to try my hand at making similar stages myself. 

The music in this stage is a remix of "Sea Bottom Segue" from Lost World, but with East Asian instruments and motifs from Aquarium Park's theme to make it fit in with the rest of the zone. This isn't the only stage in the game where the minecart mechanic will show up so look forward to playing around with it in a future demo and, eventually, the full game
